Internal Family Systems (IFS)
IFS therapy helps you understand and heal the different parts of yourself with compassion—so you can feel more grounded, confident, and whole.
What is “IFS”?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy is a gentle, evidence-based approach that helps you understand and heal the different “parts” of yourself—especially the ones that feel stuck, overwhelmed, or conflicted.
We all have different sides to us.
One part may want to move forward, while another feels afraid.
One part may work hard to keep everything together, while another feels exhausted or hurt.
IFS sees these inner experiences not as problems, but as meaningful parts that developed to protect you.
Beneath all of these parts is your core Self—the calm, compassionate, and confident part of you.
In IFS therapy, we help you reconnect with this Self so healing can happen from the inside out.
What to expect during a session
IFS therapy can be helpful if you:
Feel stuck in repeating patterns
Experience anxiety, depression, or inner criticism
Have a history of trauma or emotional neglect
Feel conflicted, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself
Want deeper self-understanding and self-compassion
If this approach resonates with you, I’d be happy to answer your questions or explore whether IFS might be a good fit.
In sessions, we gently explore what different parts of you are experiencing—at your own pace.
You are never forced to relive painful memories or “get rid” of any part of yourself.
Instead, we build understanding, safety, and trust within your inner system so change feels natural and lasting.
You don’t have to talk to your parts out loud
You don’t need to fully understand the model to benefit
All parts are welcome—nothing is “bad” or broken
The process is respectful, collaborative, and trauma-informed
